Jack C. Hastings, P.Eng. (1926 - 1993)


Jack studied Mechanical Engineering at the University of Toronto before obtaining his Professional Engineering license in 1953. Beginning in 1958, he investigated and analysed over 2,500 motor vehicle, construction and railway accidents. He was also involved with several notable product liability cases in the early years of automotive safety.

Jack was active in several professional societies. He had a strong presence and calm demeanor, when combined with his technical expertise this made him a sought after expert witness in many provinces, having appeared before The Exchequer Court of Canada. Jack was a popular and charismatic figure, who enjoyed his time at the cottage and boating.
